on june 3, 2024, the office of the national healthcare security administration issued the announcement of the 2024 public selection of subject units, of which the project of "collaborative development of long-term care insurance and long-term care service system" was undertaken by the chinese geriatrics society, which was one of the 13 units selected from the 228 reporting units. in order to do a good job in the subject research, on june 15, the chinese geriatric society held a launch meeting in beijing.

director lei wen introduced the basic needs of the subject research, and hoped that the research group would sort out the driving role of the long-term care insurance system in improving the nursing service system and personnel training, sort out the experience of pilot cities and relevant international experience, explain the operating mechanism of the long care insurance to stimulate the market vitality and promote the development of the service system, and put forward specific policy measures and suggestions.
